Kathmandu is not only the capital city of Nepal but also the largest metropolis based in the entire Himalayan range. Known as the city of temples, Kathmandu is based in the Kathmandu Valley in the foothills of the Himalayas
Arrive at Kathmandu, where our representative will transfer you to your hotel in Kathmandu as you travel on some scenic roads. This day is your leisure day and there are no set activities. You can choose to stay indoors and enjoy the cool and pleasant weather and the views of the Himalayas from your room’s window. Later, in the evening you can walk the streets of Kathmandu, sample some street food or enjoy a sit-down dinner while soaking in the rich culture of the place. You can also go for souvenir shopping or buy some artefacts when out. You can also choose to indulge in a Shiatsu massage for utmost relaxation at your own expense. Afterwards, you can return to the hotel and retire for the night.
You will enjoy a wholesome breakfast at your hotel in the morning. After breakfast, you will set out for a whole day of sightseeing in the city including visits to ancient temples, palaces and courtyards. Then you will visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site Darbar Square and enjoy the surrounding views. You will get plenty of photography opportunities when looking at the magnificent stone sculptures of Kathmandu’s Historical Haven. Next, your trip will take you to the next largest town in the valley - Patan where you can soak in the valley views. Here, you will indulge in some adrenaline-inducing activities like mountain biking and river rafting on the Bagmati River. Later in the afternoon, you will stop for a visit at the famous Pashupatinath Temple where you can admire its old stone architecture and soak in the spiritual vibe. A visit to the Hindu temple will be followed by a visit to the ancient Buddhist Temple. At the end of the day, you will be transferred back to your hotel for a comfortable night in.
After a filling breakfast at your Kathmandu hotel, you will check out and head onto your next destination of the historical hill station of Nagarkot. Enjoy uninterrupted views of the valley and admire the breathtaking natural landscape as you travel out of Kathmandu. Your journey will halt briefly at Bhaktapur Durbar Square where you can visit a group of historical Pagid and Shikara-style temples that are situated around a huge palace. Upon arriving at the hotel, you can rest off your travel fatigue and enjoy the warm hospitality of the hotel staff. As the sun goes down, you will enjoy a mesmerizing sunset over the hills where you can take pictures or just sit together and admire the beauty of the place. By the end of the day, you again head back to the hotel and spend the night in the hill town of Nagarkot.
Enjoy a scrumptious breakfast at your hotel in Nagarkot as you enjoy the cool breeze and the panoramic views that surround you. Head back to the city of Kathmandu and bid adieu to the mountains. Get dropped off at the airport for your flight back home.
